Economical Space
As a modular system, The
Skid step-fires only the boiler modules required during a specific
period for heating, snow melting, ventilation and the domestic water
requirements of a facility. The system and piping operate at the same
temperature to save energy.
When systems and integral
gas fired equipment are individualized, there is little savings on fuel
consumption or servicing, because many high-output gas-fired systems
must operate at a high temperature at all times. Modular systems save
energy over time by firing up only those modules required . These savings
become more pronounced when the internal systems are coordinated to
eliminate unnecessary water storage.
While building control systems
are compatible with our plant's controls, we recommend a complete review
of the existing control system where The Skid is utilized, as
a retrofit into existing building systems. We also recommend a complete
water balance for optimum efficiency of hot water heating and associated
system in a facility.
The system requires only
a small section of space, but creates an enormous amount of output heat
and cool air.
A few of the impressive
features of The Skid are; the redundancy keeps the system going
non-stop, even if one of the modules breaks down. Also it has the capability
to restore heat in a building in just a few hours, even after there
has been an all night power outage.
The basic design of The
Skid includes the following:
* No less than three system
modules (allowing for redundancy)
* Pumps
* Domestic hot water storage
tanks and/or heating exchanger and mixing valves
* Domestic water treatment,
softeners, and/or filters
* Expansion tanks
* Heating supply and return,
domestic water, fuel and relief piping
* Electrical power and control
wiring
* Base skid (housekeeping
pad)
* All required operation
and control devices with panels for a fully operational system plant
* All-inclusive system space
building (where required)
* Mechanical concept design
and mechanical project management services (where required)
